Chemical Exposure to the Eye
If chemicals come into contact with eyes, flush with water for a minimum of 15 minutes at eyewash station or potable water source. Notify and/or request assistance from co-worker. Seek immediate medical attention. Report the incident to your immediate supervisor.

Chemical Exposure to Skin
Notify supervisor or faculty advisor. Immediately call 412-624-2121. Safety showers or drench hoses should be used for any chemical exposure of skin or clothing. Can also be used if clothing is on fire. Utilized for a minimum of 15 minutes and contaminated clothing should be removed as necessary.

Inhalation of Chemicals
If safe to do so, move exposed person to fresh air and avoid breathing the vapors of spilled substances. Alert people in the immediate area to evacuate.

- Provide as much information known about the incident including specific location, nature and extent of injuries, name and quantity of chemical involved, any control measures taken.
- Provide your name and phone number and remain available.
