Injuries from Sharps
Any injury involving a sharps materials (scalpel blades, hypodermic needles, pasteur pipettes, contaminated broken glass) must be reported to Environmental Health and Safety.
Contaminated Sharps
If the sharps injury involves a bloodborne-pathogen exposure (such as a needlestick, contaminated sharp, blood/body fluid splash, etc.) medical evaluation and treatment must be obtained immediately. Professional evaluation is available at MyHealth@ Work (Employee Health Services).
