In 1996 Chief Holly Lamb graduated from the Allegheny County Police Academy and began her career with the University of Pittsburgh Police Department. Holly worked as a patrol officer and a member of the bicycle patrol unit before being promoted to Sergeant in 2000. She then served as Detective Sergeant in the investigations unit. In 2008 Holly accepted a promotion to Lieutenant and was subsequently elevated to Administrative Lieutenant. In January of 2014, Holly was promoted to Deputy Chief. For three years, she directed the police and security forces at several UPMC facilities until they created their own police force. In January of 2024, Chief Lamb was promoted to her current rank.
In 2015, the American Society of Industrial Security awarded Chief Lamb the 2015 Public Safety and Security Recognition Award for her superb work.
Chief Lamb graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Ohio Dominican University and was also a member of the women's basketball team.
