Crime Alerts
In accordance with the Clery Act, when certain crimes occur on or near the University of Pittsburgh campus, the Pitt Police Department will issue a crime alert to notify the community. Learn more about campus crime alerts .
Crime and Fire Log
The University of Pittsburgh Police publishes a crime and fire log every business day. It contains a summary of all criminal and actual fire reports generated during the previous 24-hour period or weekend.
Per Commonwealth and federal requirements, a log of incidents reported in the past 60 days is available for review at the Public Safety Building during business hours (8:30 am - 4:30 pm).
Incidents dated prior to the last 60 days are available for inspection within two business days upon request and are maintained for seven years. All log information is documented and titled according to information received at the time of the incident.
