The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) has announced dates for two in-person training topics for the 2023 calendar year.
For people who work with or have potential exposure to human blood, human body fluids, or any material potentially infectious to humans, Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control training is an annual requirement of the University and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The list of jobs required to complete training ranges from biomedical researchers to plumbers and custodians.
Chemical Hygiene training is required by the University for anyone working with or handling laboratory chemicals, and is mandatory once every three years.
Online training remains available for those unable to participate in person.
Note that Formaldehyde Awareness training for all lab personnel handling this potential carcinogen will be provided upon request following any Chemical Hygiene training session.
Each of the training sessions will be held at 8:30 a.m. in Benedum Hall, Room 102.
