The SafeRider program is a complimentary shuttle service that allows riders to be picked up during certain hours and in certain area when special non-emergency needs arise.

Walking Escort Service

The Walking Escort Service enables students, faculty, or staff leaving Hillman Library to be accompanied by a security guard to to certain nearby locations between 10 pm and 6 am.

Parking Safety

Pitt operates 45 parking lots and 24 parking garages. Safety measures include:

  • Emergency telephones in or near each facility.
  • Security personnel conduct foot patrols in all open garages.
  • Scheduled security rounds in transient parking garages, w/ optional escort service available upon request.
  • 24-hour patrols by Pitt Police on foot, bicycle, and in vehicles at unattended facilities.
