The University of Pittsburgh Police Department's Commander Shawn Ellies was recognized by the New Pittsburgh Courier among the Class of 2024 Men of Excellence, an annual award that celebrates African American men in the Pittsburgh region who “inspire others through their vision and leadership, exceptional achievements, and participation in community services.”
